The eastern coast of Asturias, between Villaviciosa and Llanes is also known as the Jurasic Coast becouse of great amount of fossils and dinosaur steps found in the rocks arround.
The trekking route we do in this area passes through one of the most impressive natural monuments in Asturias. This area is call "Hell´s clifs". Located between the villages of Ribadesella and Llanes, goes on for 24 km. but we only do arround 8-12 km at a time.
This is a very easy going route that will take us between 2-4 hours. In the summer, it is highly recommended to bring swim wear and towell since we will pass by some of Asturias most unknown beaches as the Villanueva, Guadamía and the Gulpiyuri beach.
Any time you came to this area you must allways have in mind this cliffs are made out of limestone, therefore water runs all trhough it and it can be very dangerous if you get close to the edge.
For clothing you will need normal mountain shoes, long trousers and a raincoat. If you came in the summer also swim wear, and if you came in the winter yu have to be very carefull with the waves, since they can jump over the cliffs no problem.
