| Trekking in the Cares gorge: |
It is the most visited and famous trekking route in Spain. During high season it can be really crowdy, and in the winter season it can be closed becouse of snow falls.
This route passes between the villages of Posada de Veldeón, Cain and Puente Poncebos, with a total distance of 22 km. that goes down around 700 m. between Posada de Valdeón and Puente Poncebos.
The Cares gorge route goes most of the time in a fairly good path. We must be very carefull with the sides of the route since in most parts of the route the is no security fence.
The equipment we need for the route is:
- Low-Meddium mountain shoes.
- Small rucksack.
- Raincoat or Gore-tex.
